i don’t mean to brag…

…but I’m really proud of myself.

For the past 3 years I have worked out every day with anything from P90X to Insanity to Les Mills Combat and now T25.

It’s not easy and I honestly believe I wouldn’t be on the “Haves and the Have Nots” if it weren’t for that discipline. Tyler was looking for someone in his 50’s that was in “great shape for his age.”

I weighed 30 pounds more 3 years ago when I did “Desperate Housewives” and “October Baby” and “Doonby.” It felt great to no longer be the “Middle age guy with the middle age spread!”

Tell you why I’m bringing this up… I was walking up a flight of outside stairs at Sundance yesterday and had the pleasure of zipping by several groups of younger (much) on my way up.  They were huffing and puffing and holding on to the rail.

Not me! I used my core… pretended I was doing T25 or a pull-up with Tony Horton and made it to the top of the stairs… then the steep hill… then the really steep hill without having to stop even once!

I couldn’t have done that 5 years ago. Hell… I couldn’t have done that 20 years ago!

If you currently don’t have a daily practice of some kind of physical fitness I urge you to find one. I have many to choose from right here but you can get it anywhere you want as long as you make a commitment to do it.

I can also assure you that I never would have been able to keep up with the schedule of “John Schneider’s Smothered” if I wasn’t in shape. No way. We shat two days every day and it may have killed me three years ago!

I feel better about everything. My head is clear. I write more. I’m more creative…

…and I can jog by people half my age going up the public stairs at Park City!

I’m liking  that.

Do it for you. Do it for your family. Do it! Then you’ll be bragging too!

    That’s great you are in such good shape! My daughter and I have been watching The Dukes of Hazzard everyday on CMT. I’m so glad I can watch a show with my 11 year old daughter and not have to tell her to “look away” for a bit like I have to on just about every other tv show on these days. We just got a General Lee hot wheel to play around with. Anyways, just wanted to say that if you can lose the weight and be fit and healthy, why can’t I? Because of you, I’m going to start exercising daily and eat healthier. So, you have every right to brag! Thanks for giving me the motivation I needed. God bless you, and I hope my daughter and I get to meet you some day!

  2. You should be proud of what you have accomplished. Your work is your credit. Great job on everything you have done. I tried to leave a message on Doonby but it won’t let me do it. So I did not know why. Keep up the great work you are doing.

    Great post! I understand climbing those hills at Sundance (I was pretty exhausted trying to make it to the Voodoo Lounge at the top).

    It was great meeting you last night at the party (I was wearing the white dress)!

  5. As I’ve recently told you, Mr. John, you’re a HUGE inspiration to me. I’m starting down that long path toward losing a very large amount of weight and following your example to improve my overall health. I’ve met with four doctors over the past week and I know I have a LONG way to go – but I also know that I can look to you for inspiration at any time. For that I’m extremely grateful.     I need to do T25 , im all for it , but my friend need to do it all well , i have the motivation ,but I need to push her to do it , she says shes available but never turns up , I currently walk 2 hrs home from work in cool weather .. and i do hill walking .Didnt think id like it but i love it

  8. That’s awesome…I am a beachbody coach myself and have many of the programs but have honestly only completed one…..Insanity. Working on Hip Hop Abs and next will be T25. Love the workouts as well…awesome commitment

  11. WAY TO GO JOHN.

    if i ever save the money to buy the programs i plan to do it. I do have insanity already that was givin to me by a friend. but not sure if i should do other programs b4 it.

    i try and walk daily about 3 to 6 miles (estimating the distance from my house into town and back to my house). even though i do it 80% of the time out of a week i still seem to b out of breath at times. it could b due to my physical disabilty or the really hot/cold weather. cause spring/fall seem to b ok.

    1. Do Insanity right away but modify all of the moves because it is crazy hard!
      My theory is that it’s always better to do something than nothing.
      Make sure you have the book that comes with the program so you’ll know what order to do it in.

  12. I don’t think you’re bragging you have a right to feel proud. I am so glad I did the John90Xplan with you last year and currently enjoying T25 even if it is really hard. I enjoy the challenge 🙂
    You’re a great coach your support and motivation really helps me to keep pressing play.
